    The 'STY' 4 4

I have built a few water cooled PC's over the last few years but this is my first log.
So sit back and enjoy... I hope

I received this in the post yesterday

A brand new ThermoChill PA 120.4 with 15mm spacings from Tom @ Chilled Pc

First job was to tap out the holes to fit machine screws.

I know it looks out of square but that is just the picture.

Then test fit a few screws.

Then onto the next task, brading the fans.

and also a lot of Yateloons from Tom.

I then set the fans out on top of the rad to check the fit

Then on to the job in hand

    One side finished

    and then the other

    and now finished

Nice work on the fans indeed, neat braiding.

You haven't really given detailed info on the project itself though.

Would be nice if you had a little intro

    Re: The 'STY' 4 4

    I was using this

    http://www.chilledpc.co.uk/shop/prod...roducts_id=161

with 1/2" fittings and black coils.

The coolant is good old Feser One (red) which has stained everything.

I think the new set up will be compression fittings and solid pipe

DFepending on how much you use, this

might be of interest - probably works out much cheap[er per unit - but you have to buy a lot to start with!.

    They also stock braiding.

    Re: The 'STY' 4 4

Does the Feser red looks red under UV? or some kinda pink or orange?

Orange feser is useless. It becomes a sickly yellow under UV.

I was thinking of replacing it with Primochill fluid and/or colour tubing.

The red was very poor and the UV reaction was negligible. The only thing that gave it any real colour was the red leds from the fans. I have to say thought, the red was still red and did not change colour.

Pre made coolants are generally terrible.

Nice start though, be interesting to see how it turns out. If I was you I wouldn't get your braid from anywhere other than Chilled PC, it's good stuff, other is crap and you can see the wires through it.

Just wondering though, why the use of different fans on the rad?

I agree, the Chilled PC braiding is the best I have ever seen. It is even better than the stuff I have had from murder mods.

As for the fans. I know you should use the same fans on both sides of a rad but I wanted something to illuminate the case.
I have had a go with lighting kits but they have always been rubbish. So this time its with fans.
