Lancool K62 or Coolermaster CM690 Advanced II

So - I think there are two extremely good contenders for the <£100 sub market for cases at the moment.

The Lancool K62 - Seen here.

    http://www.lancoolpc.com/en/microsite/01/

And the Coolermaster CM690 2 Advanced - Seen here

    http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?product_id=6638

I want to get one of these cases. Set up will include a 280mm rad. This can be fitter on the top of either case (Yeap, lancool can handle it) I do want a window too.

Now any thoughts to which one to go for. The lancool seems better value - comes with window and 2x140mm top fans (Coolermaster only comes with 1x140mm top fan)

But the coolermaster looks more sturdy, has the top hard drive dock (nice) and the hard drive mount can be removed but leaving 2 hard drive bays under the 5 1/2 bays. No doubt a window will soon be available for this too..

    Any peoples thoughts?

Lancool is a subsidiary of Lian-Li so Lian-Li build quaility, it's not going to be less sturdy.

The toolless fitting on the Dragonlord actually work.
eg pci card latches are said to hold as well as screws

The hard drive bay can be rotated if you prefur a front to back design.

That said the CM690 2adv is good, coolermaster have really lokked at way to improve it over the original.

CM do make a window side panel for the original 690/590 http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?product_id=3168 not sure where you can buy it though.

    Personally I'd get the K60

Or the k58, then buy some of the fan screws http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_2424.html, then you can fit whatever fans you want (esp if you don't want blue led fans)
Next a window side panel http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=CA-006-LN Or get one cut or make one your self
    And paint the insides black.
Although after all that it'll still probably cost the same as the k60

I was hoping for a few more opinions on this thread. I do like lots about the Coolermaster case but value of the Lancool I think will win me over.

Re: Lancool K62 or Coolermaster CM690 Advanced II

Both really nice cases I was tempted to get the K62 myself before ordering a HAF922 what won me over to the Haff 922 apart from the K62 not being in stock was the size.
The K62 is just that bit smaller which could limit the coolers that you can fit and it also only has four hard drive slots which a lot of people could say thats enough but it could really become a limiting factor.
Still the K62 has an awful lot going for it and if the lack of 3.5 HDD space dont bother you or the slight lack of dimensions then it looks to be a really amazing case.

The C690 V2 case is much cheaper than the K62 to directly comparing the two is hardly fair but it looks a nice case for the money. If money is not an issue and it was between these two cases then I would say that the K62 is the better of the two cases.

The CM690 II Advanced is £90 compared to Lancool's K62 @ £80 roughly. Lancool is cheaper and comes with additional 140mm fan and window panel.

I only ever have two hard drives at most, so 4 slots is fine. K62 can fit any cooler too, I've seen pictures with the Prolimatech Megahalems in this case with plenty of room.

What I do like about the Coolermaster case is it looks stronger.

sorry I was looking at this one from Scans http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Coole...-Panel-w-o-PSU

Not heared any issues about the K62 strength but I have heared of a bit of a issue with the window being cracked. That could just be an isolated problem though

Window issue has been resolved. Lancool / Lian Li changed the screws being used on the window to stock any cracking.

Wouldn't have thought the strength of the lancool would be an issue as it uses steel compared to the aluminium in the lian-li cases. Plus you get all the high end lian li features.

Not sure why people fuss over the quality and aluminium of Lian Li. Because of the aluminium material in Lian Li they resonate sound badly.
