    Lancool K62 + 3 hard drives

I'm in the process of looking for a new case in the sub £100 price range and have almost settled with the Lancool K62 since it offers good value for money and looks pretty cool too. However I currently have 3 hard drives and the K62 can only hold 4 at most. My question is will the case provide adequate cooling for this many the drives?

If not what other cases are there in this price range that would be worth looking at? I have looked at the ever popular Antec 902 but don't really like to design of it from the pictures I've seen.

    Re: Lancool K62 + 3 hard drives

Yes it will be fine for 3 hard drives, the drive bay are well spaced out with gaps between each one.
The drive cage can be rotated through 90 degrees so the drives are front to back rather than sideways if you prefer.
Hard drives don't need much cooling as they don't actually generate that much heat, it's just their heat tolerance is far lower than most computer parts (around 45c) however a single front fan blowing air in from the outside is all that's needed (unless you're room temp is in excess of 40c)

I'd also consider the K58, it's the same case inside however it lacks the following; window side panel, back interia, top fans and the front fan is non-led.
The advantage is it's much cheaper, http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Lanco...97-Audio-ports £57.56
You can still add in top fans to the k58 as the mounts and holes are there, just be aware that it fits 140mm fans only and you need a set of Lian-Li OF-01 gromited fan screws to fit fans.
Lian-Li OF-01 http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_2424.html £5.57 (this is the only place that I know of that sells them)
The plane black 140mm Lian-Li fans cost around £8 each and are very good http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Lian-...n-Black-No-LED

Oh and should also point out that Ebuyer have got the K62 Red dragon limited edition version on sale atm.
Balck with red interia and red led fans, boy is that a pretty case

EDIT: annoyingly the K60 (same as the K58 but with top fans included) doesn't seem to be for sale in the UK

    Re: Lancool K62 + 3 hard drives

Yeah, I have seen the K58 however I've got a new modular psu to put in it so I want to have a go at some cable tidying and have something clean on the inside and I think the black interior and side panel will show that off nicely. I could buy it and and the side panel and spray the inside black myself but I doubt I'd do that good a job of it, or at least not as good as Lancool. As for the red version, alas my motherboard is blue so I don't think it'll go as well, though I do agree it is a rather pretty case.

    Cheers for the answer though.

    Re: Lancool K62 + 3 hard drives

yep the lancool will be fine for all of your hard drives it has 4 hdd bays and it even has 5 5.25 bays, could turn some of them into hdd bays as you don't need 5 5.25 bays! great case!

    Re: Lancool K62 + 3 hard drives

Even my P180 was fine with 3 Samsung F1 1TB drives all next to each other (very little spacing), only time I had problems was when the front fan died and the airflow dropped to almost nil. Even then though, they only reached 45 degrees or so, which isn't particularly bad.
