    i7 Rebuild

First of all, just wanted to say, this isn't watercooled so unfortunately it isn't spectacular as all the other projects on Hexus I'm also one of those LED fanboys so some of you may find my build ugly haha. It's a red and black build too.

    Anyways, here are the components:
    Processor: i7 920 D0
    Motherboard: Foxconn Bloodrage GTI X58
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Tracers Red 1600Mhz CL8
    Graphics: Asus HD5770
    PSU: Corsair HX520W

Unfortunately I didn't take photos of the other products apart from the motherboard as I've had them for a short while.

    Here's the Foxconn Bloodrage GTI:

Boxshot, I loved red and black but I like the look of the other Foxconn boxes more but anyways, it's just a box haha.

Inside the box lies the Foxconn Bloodrage GTI:

And another box lies beneath it:

    Off comes the antistatic bag:

    Closer shot:

In goes the i7 920 and off comes the sticky plastic:

    On goes the Noctua NH-U12P:

All my fans are sleeved now but I only took one picture as I was too lazy to unscrew my fans

Practiced sleeving with the front panel connectors, it was actually pretty equal:

Then I did the PCI-E connector, unfortunately it wasn't sleeved very equally

I sleeved the audio header and USB cables too:

    RAM goes in now:

    All is finished!:

    Messing around with camera settings:

    Side panel on:

    The end:

Colour scheme is pretty epic, nice braiding skills as well! The case ruins it for me though
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Funny you should mention the sticker - the man's keeping an eye out for a cheap HX620 equivalent because it has a red sticker!

Pretty neat cabling, I must admit, and the sleeving looks very nice.

It's a shame neither of you like the NZXT case, I love it for the price (£40). If I could afford a Corsair 800D I would though but £200 for a case? Maybe 10 years later when I'm actually not a student with most my loans paid off haha. I'm not too fond of full size tower cases though as they seem to dwarf everything else. I'd also like a non smoked side panel too to see my lovely cable braiding haha. If only there was a super midi tower version of Corsair's case that costed around £50 but unfortunately that will definitely not happen any time soon.

I'm glad everyone likes the cabling, I plan to sleeve the 24 pin and 8 pin ATX connectors in the future but as Englander says, I will need to get my hands on a HX620W first though as I can stick with a PSU for pretty long provided they don't go pop.

I would also like to sleeve the molex and SATA cables but they seem like way too much effort due to the junctions. I've got a good idea though, to sleeve the part that enters the PSU and perhaps when I have decent tools and better skills I'll go for actual molex/SATA connector end too.

Sorry for missing this one Ulti, really nice job.
I like the M59, for the money it's a lovely looking case, I like the angled side window and the front reminds me of a gundam chest piece.

Although I also really like the nzxt hades aswell http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/913

wrt to the 520; how about getting a sheet of red clear plastic to put over the front.

Not the best but with luck it will show up red.

    Re: i7 Rebuild

The Bloodrage GTI is certainly a performer and luckily it was on clearance off OCers for quite cheap too. I was eyeing up the eVGA X58 Micro but it was more expensive than the Bloodrage GTI so I thought it wasn't worth it. The Asus Rampage III certainly looks like (same colour scheme as the Crossfire IV) but at £300+ I'd never be able to purchase it for at least the next 3 years. (I will be shopping in Lidl/Farmfoods I think due to uni, not shopping on ebuyer/scan haha) It's a shame my CPU isn't such a good sample though, but tbh I really don't need an i7 920 overclocked at anything more than perhaps 3.2ghz anyway.

I certainly like the look of the NZXT Hades too and it's only £60 (this does mean it's 50% more expensive than the M59 though) but I can't afford to switch cases every few months, even if they "only" cost about +-£50.

I've got a HX620W now But due to exams I'm too lazy to take pictures and too lazy to braid the 24pin and 8 pin connector too. I'm also replacing the Xigmateks with Enermax Magmas as the Xigmateks are certainly the loudest thing in the case, plus I've got enough LEDs haha. I was redoing my 6 pin connector and ripped the wire too whilst breaking the pin remover tool in the process

    Ulti, quick question.

Where did you get your cable sleeving and shrink wrap from? I want to sleeve the cables in my PC, I have some older cable sleeving stuff but it will look out of place in my current PC.

    Cheers,

i think the m59 looks better anyway ulti, the hades looks a bit cheap, lol, not sure why but just does.have you thought about trying to install the dvd-rom in the top bay?you might need to dremel a bit tho coz of the edges being rounded.then you could go for a nice touchscreen fan controller/card reader.

    Cheers,
I got the larger red cable sleeving (the ones for USB header and the modular cable sleeving) as well as the black cable sleeving and red heatshrink from MDPC-X. All the other stuff (black heatshrink, the red motherboard headers, black and red fan cable braiding etc) from ChilledPC.

I can't really say which is better but MDPC-X has more choice for coloured heatshrink but it's more expensive than ChilledPC.

May want to look at this thread that I posted before asking about UK cable sleeving shops:
    http://forums.hexus.net/chassis-syst...ing-shops.html

Well there's a lot of people that don't like NZXT cases, I love the M59 personally, but I love the price even more though haha. The top bay is meant to be a stealth drive but due to NZXT not thinking smartly enough, placing the DVD drive there would block of one of the top fans unfortunately. It is removable though but then as you say, I'd have to dremel the CD drive and I do not have such a tool nor do I trust myself with one haha. Tbh it is what I hate atm though. I'd love to have something like the NZXT Sentry or watercooling reservoir there but they are too expensive when I don't need them.

    Re: i7 Rebuild

if only money was no object.i was gonna go water cooling but for the money i can spend i be better off with a good air cooler.i working on designs at the mo for a home built water cooling solution, lol, thinking of creating an external radiator an high capacity tank stored outside my computer, lol, well actually in the garden.this sounds crazy i know, thinking of plumbing the tubimg through holes in the bedroom wall to a cooler outside consisting of car or lorry radiators and some seriously powerful refridgeration fans,it'll be a pretty big project but i should be able to build a icy cooling solution at the price of a modest water cooling set-up.it mite seem a tad extreme but i want to experiment with some serious overclocking and dry ice is not practical everyday,an i bet its pricey.i'll post progress when build gets started.
