Ideal thanks mate, hoping to get a nice overclock on my X2 5600 with it. The stock cooler wasn't much cop above 2.95 GHz.

Re: Artic Freezer 7 Pro question

Yes more than enough space The 300 can take 170mm tall coolers if I remember correctly

Most 120mm fan based tower cooler are 160-165mm tall and the ACf7p is only a 92mm fan based tower cooler

My 900 takes the Ultima-90 with about 5 yards of headroom and I think the cooler+cases are a similar size.

The AF7Pro is not best suited to the AMD chips - plenty of stuff on the problems if you google. The Xigmatek S1283 is far better for AMD.

Re: Artic Freezer 7 Pro question

Well no problems to report, its already knocked a good 8 degrees off my cpu temps over the stock cooler. It's the revision 2 if that helps.

And I can report the rev 1 is great for AMD X2 as well, at least with skt 939.

For the first time ever, I can actually hear my hard drive, now the loudest part of my PC.

Re: Artic Freezer 7 Pro question

Yes the ACf7p is still a good cooler for dual core cpu's, my main reasons for not liking it where issues with the fan on some of the original models (I got caught by that, the PWM function failed so the fan was stuck at 100%) that and when they re-released it as rev2 they gave it a multiple socket mounting system and improved fan but that was it.
it's still good as a 92mm fan tower cooler but there are better 120mm fan based coolers around which cost around the same.
