    CPU Cooler??

    Hi guys here's the deal...

I'll soon be purchasing a P4 3.4ghz and was wondering which cpu cooler you reckon is the best out there at this moment in time??

    Thanks in advance!

    TY.

If price is no object, the Vapochill LS will give the biggest bang for the buck and also will give you the most OC`ing potential as far as a factory available product goes.
    Cools down to -48.0c.

I have a coolermaster aero 4 copper version, keeps my P4 2.66 down to 30c when the fan is on full blast, but can be a bit noisy in a quite system.

Alot of people like the larger Thearmalright slk/sp's fitted with 92mm fans, so one of those would prob be a good bet, but as I've not had one can't really comment.

Persoanlly I've got an aerocool dp102 on my 2.8 Prescott, fitted with 2x60mm fans, works a treat, as well as looking quite nice. I would have 2 x 80mm fans installed instead, but there's huge mosfet/nb coolers on my mobo so I can only fit 60mm fans on mine

if you are not bothered about noise get yourself the swiftech mcx4000 with an 80mm focus flow delta screamer like I have on my p4 you soon get used to the noise and it aint so loud. Cools great

Right how does this sound for a combination...

    ThermalRight SP-94 Heatsink + Thermaltake Coolmod SmartFan2 80mm?

I'd say performance is more important than noise, but obviously I don't want to make my room sound like Heathrow airport

    TY.

If you're looking at a sp-94 why not get a 92mm fan, it should push the same air as an 80mm at lower rpm + quieter ?
Ok, so its not speed controlladle, but you can easily change it from 12v to 7v

I vote for Akasa AK-901XT Extreme Edition, recently built a few high end P4's for a chap doing some CAD work and the heatsink was very impressive yet not OTT on the price.
I guess it all depends on what you want to spend on a cooler. £40+ for some of those specialist seems a bit keen to me, but it obviosuly plays an important role!
You can view the above cooler on Akasa web site using this link

i just did this with a p4 3.06ghz i used a zalman alu/cu cp7000 which keeps the cpu down to 38 degrees, it can cool alot lower if u turn up fan m8 to the full (included with the zalman) also it has fittings for lots of different sockets so its highly re usuable in the future
