Want to get my AMD ATHLON 64 X2 from 2ghz to 2.4ghz

Want to get my AMD ATHLON 64 X2 from 2ghz to 2.4ghz

    First off, my specs are:

    Proccessor: AMD ATHLON 64 X2 2ghz
    Motherboard: MSI MS-7253
    Ram: 1GB DDR2
    HDD: 250gb samsung HDD
    Graphics: Nvidia 8400gs 512mb

I know my computer is t exactly high spec but I want to be able to place some driving games like gtr evolution, trackmania sunrise, test drive unlimited and similar games and I think I need this boost. I've had a quick look at my bios and it allows me to go to about 2.3ghz I think but wanted to check before I touch anything. Also what cooling should I get? And to run some games better what else could I do? I know I need more ram. But don't know wether to invest in ddr2 as in the future I want a phenom which means I need a motherboard with ddr3 so I'd need to buy two lots.

    Thanks in advance!

This is not a major overclock so you shouldn't need a heatsink and installing another fan should be fine. To run games better you can additionally get a program called game booster which basically just shuts down processes you don't need so you may see a slight performance increase.

You mean invest in ddr3? Not much point in upgrading the motherboard to change from ddr2 to ddr3 as there is no major difference between the two types. Graphics card is the main thing when running games so you may need to upgrade your motherboard for certain graphics cards to suppport pci-e 3 or pci-e 2

    Hope I helped
