    120mm side fan.

    Hi all,

I've just signed up for the 3 x Custom PC mags for £1 deal which should come with a Noctua NF-S12B FLX 120MM fan.

Currently I have a HAF-912+ case with a 200mm on the front as an intake, an Acutake Apache 120mm on the back and another on the top as extraction.

Question is should I put the new fan on the side (should this be intake or extraction??), or on top as another extraction?

    Cheers

Sorry not really a helpful reply, but ether position could be better, only way would be to test it yourself.

If I was using the side position, should that be intake or exhaust?

    Re: 120mm side fan.

Intake is generally best for a side panel fan, pull cool air from outside over the graphics card.

You'd still need to test it to see what's best, although with a 5770 and an i3 2100 I doubt you need much cooling.

    Re: 120mm side fan.

Thanks for the help mate. Yeah, seems to be running fairly cool for now. Just thought that if I was getting a free fan I might as well fit it, but might just sell it on. Seems to get decent reviews.
