    upgrade case

    hi
I am looking to upgrade my antec 300 case. I have 1 sdd and 3 HDD drives it. the problem is poor cable management and gt570 is a really tight squeeze. After a HDD failed had to remove gfx card and undo a lot of cables to remove the drive so looking for bigger better quieter case as find the fans in it quite noisy.

I was looking at corsair 600t. Any suggestions? budget £120-130

    thanks

    Re: upgrade case

At that budget you're pretty much open to almost every decent steel case.
Do you want to stick with a mid tower? or look at something larger?

The new Antec 1100 looks quite good (not out until dec)

If you like the cleaner looking cases then check out the fractal design Arc, that's a really lovely case.
Now granted it's not much bigger than the 300 however it's bigger in one key area, width and fractal design have put that width to good use, more space behind the motherboard tray for easier cable management, rotated the hard drive cages which allows for more gpu length, with one cage removable it also gives you the full lenght of the case for a card while not disrupting the other drive cage, lots of cooling with 140mm fan mounts and an offset mount in the roof so you can fit a 240mm rad of any thickness internally (most cases have the top fan slots central which means rad thickness can be limited as the motherboard & ram will be in the way.)

    Hi thanks

I'd like to try and keep it mid tower if possible but not afraid of a big bad full tower as long as it looks sleek not like some sort of snarling over the top gaming rig!

    Re: upgrade case

Well I'd definitely look at the Fractal Design Arc.
    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/fract...e-case-w-o-psu
note: while the front bezel look like it's brushed aluminium it's actually textured plastic
Couple of good reviews of it

If you want to stick with air cooling, then I'd look at getting a couple of additional 140mm fans
The fan in the case are not the same as the ones fractal design sell separately,
So I'd move the top fan to the 2nd front fan slot, then get a pair of different fan to go into the top.
The bitFenix fans are good low noise/near silent 140mm fans http://www.scan.co.uk/products/140mm...fdb%29-1000rpm
The Lian-Li fans are decent too http://www.scan.co.uk/products/140mm...n-black-no-led
The NZXT fan are very nice http://www.scan.co.uk/products/140mm...-cable-1300rpm good quality for cost, but not silent at full speed.
(as it comes with a fan controller that shouldn't be an issue )
Another one to consider is the new Antec Two-Cool, like the older tri cool fans, has the manual fan speed selector, but lower rpm and better blade shape.
Low noise on high near silent on slow.

EDIT: Personally the only real headache is that big unfiltered side panel vent. why do manufactures bother putting filters ever where else and then leave an unfiltered dirty big hole in the side for dust to get in
The best you can buy ready made is a 140mm filter in the uk, silverstone do make a 180mm but they are not for sale in the UK Still it's easy to make your own filter.

Speaking of filters, you'll have to experiment but if your temps are a bit high try removing to top filter, if you're using it as extraction then the filter is not that important and does restrict air flow slightly, esp on low rpm fans.
