    600T, 550D, Design XL, P280, AI-6B or Switch 810?

    Corsair 600T
    Corsair 550D
    Fractal Design XL
    Antec P280
    Anidees AI-6B
    NZXT Switch 810

So......if you had to choose between the above 6 cases, which would you choose and why?

I've spent 4 hours looking at them now and not one of them ticks all the boxes......interested to hear what others think!

What exactly are your boxes that need ticking?

    BTW, that Anidees looks phenomenal.

    Re: 600T, 550D, Design XL, P280, AI-6B or Switch 810?

The Anidees does look nice, but it doesn't look massively big inside, esp room up top for a radiator
you can see here the distance between the top of the IO sheild area and the top of the actual frame isn't great

But if you're not water cooling that's not that big an issue, as there's space for fans.

    Ah ha,

They are doing the trick corsair has used on the Carbide series and pressed out the top fan area to give more room for a rad.
That's one heck of an open hex mesh there. very nice

The hard drive trays seem to have been directly ripped off from fractal design, but if your going to copy someone's hard drive trays then fractal design are a very good one to copy

In fact the inside design looks like they've been borrowing heavily from fractal design, with a bit of corsair thrown in.

Looks like the door and top bezel are plastic with a thin bit of anodised aluminium glued to it for the look of aluminium, again nothing wrong with that, corsair do it on their obsidian series.

    4x usb2, 2x usb3, audio sockets and an e-sata that's very nice

    Techpowerup liked it http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Anidees/AI6/1.html
And I must say it does look good, not really pushing the boat out in any areas but not doing anything badly ether.
That hex mesh up top is lovely, although it's under that top bezel so they could of just left big holes there.
The big square window (on the windowed version) looks rather naff, personally I really don't like a big square external window, but it's made worse by clashing with the rest of the design, at least they could of rounded off the corners of both cut and window to blend it into the overall design.
Lack of included fans and details of the two that are included isn't great.

Only question is the cost really.

    Re: 600T, 550D, Design XL, P280, AI-6B or Switch 810?

    On to the others

I'd not a fan of the Fractal Design XL I think it's just a bit too big for my tastes the NZXT Switch 810 also falls into that.

the P280 . . . tough, it's a step back towards the lovely p180 design but as with the other recent antec cases the design just seems to be the door/bezel and not carrying it over into the sides and top.
I think I prefer the new gamer 1100, which seems to be the same frame http://www.antec.com/Believe_it/product.php?id=NzA0NTA1
The look is just that bit more unified.

Corsair 600T & 550D I think they are both flat out lovely looking, the 550D is a bit of a black monlith, which I don't generally like, but corsair have gone all out for black monlith and it works, at the same time ticking all my boxes for features.
the 600T I just love the look of that one and ticks a good number of my boxes.

A lot is going to be down to what you want to put in it.

Too many to list but the ones that are nagging me the most are:

    1. I am seriously considering dropping water cooling.........I've built a ton of machines since I built my last WC setup and the majority of them have been cool and quiet without resorting to water.....So I am going to go air.....but with the option of switching back if deemed necessary at a later date....so case needs to be good for air and decent for water. Probably will sell my triple rad, hence a lot of these cases will only fit a dual, plus cases with triple support are depressingly thin on the ground and ugly...

    2. Minimum of 6 x 3.5" and 3 x 5.25"....preferably a few more but the cases with more seem to lack elsewhere

    3. Window......I'd like one to show off full and tidy innards.....but some windows show too much IMO (I do not want to be seeing internal drive bays!)

    4. As quiet and cooling as possible

    5. Looks. I got to look at the thing on my desk every day.....it has to look good.

So yeah, just about every single case I can find has a caveat. Hence I left the question rather open hoping people would spot out things I haven't even considered yet.......

Although at the moment I am quite drawn to the AI-6B - especially as I now see it can take 2 dual rads......which does leave quite a bit of wiggle-room down the road.......it's main sticking point for me atm though is the 3 x 5.25 - I really would like just 1 more.....plus that review for it said they broke a spring on it immediately....

Oh my decisions, decisions........I really believe I am going to have to compromise somewhere......but I find it hard to decide on compromise
