    Multiple case fan wiring

I apologize if this has been covered in another thread, I did a search but couldn't find anything.

Basically, I have 3 casefans hooked up using a lovely configuration of 2 to 3 pin adapters hooked into molex connectors. The whole thing is just shoved on top of my power supply. Here's a picture of what I'm talking about.

What I want to know is, is there a way to clean this mess up without getting a fan controller? I know how to solder, so that's not a big deal.

I hope that all made sense. Help anyone?

By the way, great site, I'm looking forward to posting here more often.

Edit: Renamed the image. Sorry, didn't know there was a swear filter.

cut the molex connectors of all 3 fans, then simply solder all 3 fans to one molex connector.

    voila.

Oh and change the name of your image as the swear filter stops that image from loading

Well the molex connectors aren't on the fan cables, that's the thing.

I mean cut the cables that run to the fans, cut off the 4 pin connectors and re solder them all onto a single 4 pin connector

    Oh ok.

Another dumb question. Can I cut them from where there are still 3 cables or do I still need to use the 3 to 2 pin adapters.

Sorry, I'm fairly new at this.

Keep the 3 pin connectors on, so in future you can still use them

If you have access to terminal strip as you could then house it in a nice box if you have a windowed case.

    Good luck with it....

it certainly looks a mess................. alternatively you could buy a fan controller but most of em accept 3 pin fans.....

Worked perfectly. I could still get a fan controller if I want to, the fans are 3 pin, I just don't have the cash for that right now and I really don't even need a fan controller.

I'll post some pictures later after I get home from work.

While we're on the subject...sort of, does anyone know of an actual store (obviously it has to be a national chain, unless there's anyone out there that lives in Daytona Beach )that sells cable sleeving? Not wire loom, or the plastic stuff, but the stretchy kind. I hate buying online, I end up paying 20 bucks for a 5 dollar order because of shipping.

I tried Home Depot, they didn't have anything. Pep Boys wants 10 bucks for like, 3 feet of split loom because stupid kids with Honda Civics all want chrome-esqe looking coverings for their cables.

    Any suggestions?

That's split loom. Basically it just looks like hard plastic tubing, but it's cut up the side so you can put the cables in.
