Question Case fan removed. Should I cover it's grille?

The top fan in my Antec Three Hundred has just failed. I've removed it, but should I cover the grille in the case?

This isn't a problem as the airflow in the case is fine. An intake fan at the front, a CM V6 on the CPU and and exhaust fan at the back.

So should I be covering the grille where the fan used to be? For noise reasons, or to keep dust out?

(Smiley chosen by my 7 yo daughter. May not be appropriate to post content.)

Personally i would put a dust filter there (also stops children dropping things in!) :-)

Yes to both. At least one of these magnetic jobs.

    Or better yet http://www.scan.co.uk/products/140mm...dust-filtering
magnetic and optional screw holes for a more solid mounting if required.

Although I would get a new fan to put in there, http://www.scan.co.uk/products/140mm...witch-case-fan run it at the low setting (800rpm) it'll be near silent and there's naught wrong with a bit of extra exhaust

You make a good point. Got 3 kids here, two of them under 4!
