    Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Fatal1ty AD_EXT cable question

    Hi

    I've got a Soundblaster X-Fi Fatal1ty sound card and the X-Fi I/O Drive.
I want to use this card and I/O drive in a computer case upgrade. At the moment it's got the AD_EXT Ribbon cable (supplied with original equipment).
Is there any way to change this ribbon cable to a round sectioned one.? It would make the cable run so much neater if I could get a replacement.
If this is possible, where could I purchase one. I've had a look on various sites, including Scan Computers but I'm not sure what I should be specifically looking for.
    Any help would be appreciated

    Altair

Ribbon cable can be run very neatly, often more neatly than other cable as long as it's long enough.
The thing people forget is that you can fold ribbon cables, this means you can run them flat along any flat surface, you can hold it down neatly with simple double sided tape too.

Here we go let's play spot the ribbon cable

Answer is here http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i4...n_cable_02.jpg http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i4...n_cable_01.jpg and that was only rough, the final was neater.

Here's one for a sound card http://www.overclockers.com/forums/s...postcount=2175 although I personally think it could of been done a bit neater.

You will find that round floppy drive cables work perfectly. I have been using one for years!! I can't remember whether it is the A or the B drive connector you use but I do know that it works

Hi!...Thank's for the replies folk's, and thank's 'Pob255' for the links, interesting!
The floppy round cables seem cheap enough to have a mess around with 'blueball', so I'll try that avenue as well.
Thanks once again for your input.

    Kind Regards,
    Altair.
