Maybe something like the Coolermaster CM 690 II - If your willing to add about £5-£10 to your budget then you could also be looking at things like the Coolermaster HAF 912, Storm Enforcer or Storm Scout.

NZXT are worth looking at. Very cheap cases but also very high quality.

quality for a budget? bitfenix. shinobi springs to mind. spend a tiny bit more and you're looking at fractal offerings. i personally would take either of those two ahead of nzxt

Fractal's nice, but a little more pricey than what OP wanted. How about the Silencio?

    Re: i need a case

"case performance" is a bit of a mythnomer as cooling is more about the air flow and fans used, force enough air through any case and you'll get good cooling.

Also define "decent sized fan" are you talking 120-140mm or larger?

I take it you want ATX not mATX?

    Fans included in the cost?

What are you planning on putting in it? what are you hoping to get out of the case?
eg if all you're planning is a dual core cpu, onboard graphics and a single hard drive, then you really don't need much is the way of cooling.

from what limited information you've given,

cm silencio is a fractal r3 ripoff. same price for less performance i'm afraid

    Re: i need a case

When the silencio came out it was about £15 cheaper, it's not less performance if you leave the vents on the R3 covered.
However the hard drive mounting isn't as good, the fractal design grommeted drive tray system is far better for vibration damping which can be a major source of sound after the fans.

All told the silencio is ok for what it is, esp for a low noise non-gaming system. (and it's still better than the NZXT H2)
However the fractal r3 is a great case for the cost and it's got more flexibility, leave the vent covers on and it's a good low noise non-gaming system, remove the covers and add in some fans and the noise will go up but so does the cooling. That will push up the price because now you have to buy extra fans but at least the option is there.

Now that the price difference between the silencio and R3 is as little as £1 the R3 does come out on top.
Again extra fans to make the cooling in the r3 better than the silencio does push the price up, but it can be done, the only way to add extra fans to the silencio will be to mod it.

    Re: i need a case

    R3 is great case. I'm running older R2 w/ 920 @ 3.5GHz at 60c 1200rpm, on TY-140s. Loudest thing is Corsair TX650 v2 fan.

    Customer support is great too.
