Am I going to need a new motherboard tray :S

Recently bought a lian li pc-x1000. Odd purchase i know because it isn't in production anymore. I always wanted one though and since i saw one in stock someone I pulled the trigger. I have to say in person it looks amazing and is much higher quality than my pc-a17 which I wasn't anticipating but am very happy with nonetheless.

Anyway enough gabbering, onto the main problem I have. I want to install a phobya 400mm radiator in the front of it where the vent holes are. The problem with this idea is though if you look at this picture you can see that the midplate which the motherboard tray is attached to won't allow the radiator to fit vertically in the front. So the midplate obviously needs to go or be cut before it reaches the front of the case. Although I really like the midplate I think it is better if it goes completely which brings me onto the problem of what is going to support motherboard tray. All ideas are welcome, do I need a new motherboard tray fabbed? Or can I just cut the midplate before the front of the case an use the gpu support bar and the support bar underneath the midplate (or will that just look dumb).

I could take a few pictures on my phone if some internal shots of the case would help.

Thanks in advance as soon as I sort this problem I crack on with a build log.

Re: Am I going to need a new motherboard tray :S

I take it you mean the divider that separates the middle cell with the motherboard from the bottom cell with the psu and hard drive cage?

Very hard to tell without having had physical access to a x1000, but it looks like it's just a plate with a couple of folds in it riveted at each end, to the front and back.
Cannot tell exactly the way the motherboard tray mount to it, so hard to tell how loose it would be without that bottom mounting.

The graphics card support bar should provide a lot of strength and support, my guess is that cutting of the front of the divider, just after the end of the motherboard tray, so it's no longer attached to the front should be ok, that'll weaken it slightly but should still be strong enough.
If it's a bit weak then what you could do is get a 2nd plate made up that would bolt onto the now shortened end of the divider and is then bent to go to ether the front of the case below the rad or to the bottom of the case, doesn't have to be a solid plate really just a support strut.
