    GPU Water Cooling

    Hi everybody

I am just about to embark on my first build and want to water cool the GPU. I would like your advice on the following loop diagram, it's very basic (please click thumbnail):

As this will be my first build I have no idea if I have the pump in the correct place, or whether that makes a difference, so is there an optimal place to put the pump?
Btw, the pump I intend to use is this: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/alpha...-connectors%29
Also does it need to be placed vertically in the chassis? Or could I turn it on it's side?

All the parts shown are in their relative positions in the case (case front to the right). The drain will be in-line in the loop and not on a spur as in the diagram. I already have one of these for the drain: http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/...pid-12834.html

So, is there anything I should think about adding/modifying before I go ahead?

If you want further mounting options for the pump & better performance, use one of these.

With the different top, you can use this pump

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/alpha...pump-unit-only

Basically its the same unit as you linked to but without the pump housing.

Thanks c12038. Much nicer diagram than mine Being lazy I am going to put a Corsair H80 on the CPU. Great looks like I got it pretty much right.

A little while ago I bought a job lot of PC gear for £20. It's all unused and it's how I got the Koolance drain In the package came a D5 pump with no housing! It just goes to show that if you don't ask etc.......... So thank you very much piggin23 looks like you just saved me a few quid

However a question: Do you fit the D5 pump direct to this unit or is there something else (other than fittings), that I would need. It only says 'Top', is there a bottom?

    Thanks

    Re: GPU Water Cooling

    Nothing else is required.
    The top is bolted together.
You undo the screws & split the top.
You put the pump body into the top & bolt the top back together.

It gets rid of the pump top & res
