Question Antec NeoPower - in the UK yet?

    Hi,

I've upgraded to an Athlon 64 and my PSU (a Q Technology 300w) is struggling. I was tempted to get something like the Tagan 480w but then saw NeoPower (check out www.antec.com) and have decided I'll get that instead. Does anyone know if it is available in the UK yet?

    TIA,

    offdigital

They are £98 at eBuyer & they don't have any - they aren't exactly going to be cheap anywhere.

ooh, modular PSU's. like the looks and sound of that. would certainly be an improvement over the Tagan's which come with enough cables to light up your house

Gotta decide now between this and the OCZ Powerstream. So much kit to buy, so less money

    i know the feeling Leo...

I like the look of the Neopower aswell. I think most psu's will be modular in a year or two. Gotta be the way forward.

Got one from http://www.overclock.co.uk/ last Thursday.

Like others have said, it's expensive, but it's definitely been worth it I'd say....

Machine's near silent now, as the 120mm fan in my P160 is hooked off the dedicated fan controller channel. The PSU itself is also pretty damn quiet.

Case temps are about 4 degrees C average below what they were with my old Enermax 465 whateveritwas and the cable clutter is just about gone, as it's a fair bit easier to connect the kit needing power and then run it back to the PSU itself.

After fitting the PSU, the noisiest thing in the machine now is the fan supplied with the Coolermaster Hyper6 heatsink, which I'll hopefully be sorting out in the next week or so when I find something better to replace it with.
