    Removing PSU 6-Pin plugs!

Need help with removing the plugs from the housing so I can sleave them up.

These are the tools I have and I tired them all and nothing seems to work.

    Please, any suggestions?

For example, how many clips do the plugs have? Is it just the one or is there two at the side or at the top? Which end should I try to remove?

AFAIK (although I've never done it) you need to remove each pin individually, so you will need to unclip at least 6 different things! I think there's at least a couple of different methods of clipping the pins in, so you'll have to look at your particular plugs, but generally you'll either have to prod something in the side of the plug (there'll be a small hole) which will push a clip in, or use something cylindrical (the far right hand tool looks like it might be the one to me) to "sleeve" the pin inside the plug - this pushes the clips in and the wire with that pin on can then be withdrawn.

It might be easier/better to buy a new 6-pin plug. Unfastening & Re-fastening each connection will damage the copper (and take ages).

p.s. it's only about £5-10 to buy a new individually sleeved cable. Plus these come in loads of colors & lengths which can look awesome.

    Re: Removing PSU 6-Pin plugs!

The tool for removing the picture 3 pins should be cylindrical & hollow to push over the metal pins to retract the sprung clips at the base.

No need to remove both plugs as you can sleeve from one side.

The white one is easy to get off only with sewing pins - there are little extrusions on the pins that you can push in to get them to pop out
