Is this a decent Case/PSU combo?

Cooler Master Sileo Mid Tower Black Case with Cooler Master 500W at Scan.

I want to buy a new case and read up on the reviews of this one. Seems to suit my needs quite well and has the nice and clean look that I prefer in a chassis. I need a new PSU anyway - I ripped my current one out of an old second hand PC and I'm amazed it has lasted a year already - so for £20 more then the case on its own I can get one, but is it decent? Certainly doesn't have to be some amazing modular ultra quiet thing (although the quieter the better) but I also don't want to be thinking I'd have to get another one down the line anyway.

Answering my own question here. But I think I'm going to pay an extra £10 and get this PSU instead.

I would spend £15 more and get the XFX Pro 450w

Re: Is this a decent Case/PSU combo?

The case looks quite restrictive on airflow (only 2x120mm fans), with the soundproofing it will get quite hot. Maybe have a look at something like this: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/antec...-(new-version)

With the XFX Pro 450W (good choice btw), it will come in at the same price as the bundle in the OP.

Re: Is this a decent Case/PSU combo?

The styling isn't quite my cup of tea, but will have a look at some reviews and see if it's a decent option. Cheers.

Re: Is this a decent Case/PSU combo?

Have to say, I'm still leaning towards the Coolermaster for the chassis. I don't think I'm going to have to big a deal with heat; I'm running a Core 2 Duo 6550 in there, Radeon 5670 and a couple of hard drives - one which probably be replaced with an SSD.
Main thing the Coolermaster falls down on is cable manangement. But I don't mind that too much. It wins on styling and seems to keep the internals very quiet, which is great when watching TV/Movies on it.

The Antec does have good cable management and heat dissipation. But the styling isn't to my liking and, from what I have read, it gives off more noise.

Re: Is this a decent Case/PSU combo?

Not much of a gamer, no. I mainly built this PC as a cheap thing to take away to university with me. Most of it's time is spent on the internet, various programming environments, XBMC, iPlayer and Sky Player.
Do play the odd game of FIFA12 on it.

Re: Is this a decent Case/PSU combo?

Look at the Lian Li (lancool) range great performance, quiet and great cable management and design

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/lian-...x-side-window-

and will save £15 to put towards a quiet PSU or Passive cooled Graphics card, which will be the major reduction in noise

Also Artic 13 CPU coolers are quiet and pretty cheap 20-25 pounds
