Best cases (<£80) for corsair H80 and H100 CPU cooling kits

    Hi

Can anyone please provide me few tower/cases with reasonable low price that have compatibility with H100 cooling kit. As Not all the cases support H100, I would like to know the best (with low price possible) cases before buying my new system.

    Thanks

I found these 2 in my budget range:

    HAF 932 (http://www.coolermaster.co.uk/produc...roduct_id=6719)
    Corsair 500D ( http://www.corsair.com/pc-cases/carb...ower-case.html)

    thanks!

I think the fractal design arc midi is suitable for watercooling, very wide and quite a big case, costs around £70-£75. Really good features and a plain look.

How come you choose the h80 or h100, I have read many review they all point to http://www.scan.co.uk/products/noctu...-with-2-x-fans. Which also fits in many cases and gives nice temps when overclocking, unless you are push/pull the h100.

A lot of people don't like having big, heavy heatsinks like the Noctua and find that a cooler like the H80 or H100 give excellent results without filling the side panel window with a massive lump of metal and fans on it when they would rather be looking at their mobo and components instead.

Though if you are looking at Corsair All in One units then I would suggest getting the H80i or the H100i as these revisions are reportedly significantly better than the first revision versions of these coolers. Here's an unboxing video and if you are lucky you might even win one here.

Re: Best cases (<£80) for corsair H80 and H100 CPU cooling kits

Also all the corsair carbide series cases will fit the H100 (not sure about the new carbide 200, but the 300 up fit it) also the obsidian 550d because it's built on the same internal frame (but that's just under £120)

The slightly older Coolermaster CM 690 II is still worth a look.

In theory most cases with dual 120mm fan mounts in the top will take the H100, with only one set of fans.
Some of the cheaper smaller cases will have issues because of a lack of space between the top of the case and the top of the motherboard.

The fractal design Arc gets around the issue by having the top fan mounts offset instead of in the middle so it's possible to fit the widest radiators and fans without any issue.

I had never seen an Antec case that I liked until I saw an unboxing for this one, and I would now consider this case, it is slightly above your budget at £87, but you might want to checkout the Antec P280 here's an unboxing video.

For the same price as the P280 is the Nanoxia Deep Silence:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/nanox...30-air-chimney

"There's also a healthy amount of space inside for installing radiators to the top, back, and bottom, and the DS1 is one of the only cases I've seen that supports 140mm/280mm radiators."

He's being a bit overly gushing about it.
solid case overall, but not innovative. (ps this is the exact same internal frame as the gamer 1100 model)
The most innovative thing is the side accessed psu dust filter, generally it's a bunch of bits for other antec cases mashed into one.
That said it's not a bad case, esp for that price, it originally came out for £120ish
Looks wise, the front is nice (but pulled straight off the good p180 series) however there are problems, they don't look as good as the p180 series did, because the design and materials are not carried over so they are just the front bezel/door, which make it stick out and look wrong.
It really wouldn't of taken much to put an inlay on the side panels to make them look like the door.
The other major issue for me is lack of 140mm fan mounting, it really would not of taken much work to make the fan mounts 120 or 140 compatible for both the top and front fans.

For £120 the corsair obsidian 550d made the p280 look pitiful, now the price has been slashed to the £80-90ish price range the p280 is a solid buy.
It's a solid case, good size, reasonable cooling, good quality, good feature set, good noise and dust handling, nothing glaringly wrong or bad.
The half assed styling and lack of 140mm fan mounts are my only minor niggles

@Pob: That's an interesting take on the case and video I posted. Yeah, he does tend to get very enthusiastic when I unboxing products, I'm glad you pointed out your minor niggles though, as people are looking at larger fans I think it is important that chassis are made to take 140 or even larger fans to meet with people's needs.

Re: Best cases (<£80) for corsair H80 and H100 CPU cooling kits

Ordered mine tonight from scan, will post what I think when it shows up on Friday and I built it all. Good price from scan and with the free postage we get seamed like a bargain of a case, I lused to have a superlan boy 2 so used Antec in the past and liked what I had then only reason I got rid of that case was it was too small for my old 280gtx.

Anyhow will let you know how it go's and might include piccy's

    edit

Seams I wont be getting me p280 today I didn't notice the case was on pre-order when I brought it so playing the sit and wait game now, hope it wont be too long a wait
