    Best PWM 120 case fan?

Looking to get a PWM 120mm exhaust case fan to replace a silent eagle 1000 that will move to be a front intake fan.

I have been looking at the following:

Be Quiet Shadow Wings SW1 120mm £12.40 Link
Noctua NF-F12PWM Case Fan 120 mm £15.79 Link
    Akasa AK-FN057 Apache 12cm Fan £11.88 Link
Cooler Master Excalibur 120mm Fan £12.19 Link

    These good choices?

The case (nzxt 210) has space for a 140 top fan - could i use this instead of the rear exhaust fan? may be a bit quieter?

Have you checked out the SPCR reviews?

I checked the recommended fans from silent pc review,

Scythe - I could not find a PWM fan available from scan, ebuyer or amazon
Nexus real silent - as above
    Noise blocker - as above
Antec tru quiet - looks good but I can't find a PWM version

Re: Best PWM 120 case fan?

The problem is that these sorts of things are very subjective. We could all come in and say "I bought X, it's really quiet", but that doesn't mean much.

SPCR reviews are the only ones I know of that have any real merit, so I would stick to their recommendations (and have done).

Ultimately, as long as there isn't a major problem with a fan, you probably won't notice the difference. The faster they go, the louder they are, and that's about it. Some are definitely better than others, but unless they're total junk, it's unlikely to make a huge difference.

Noctua are meant to be good, but also expensive. I've used Scythe in the past because they're up there with the best, but not quite as pricey.

In short, I would suggest that you follow SPCR, but if you can't, don't worry too much about it. All of those fans listed are likely to be more or less the same, give or take a couple of dB that you'll never notice in operation.

Re: Best PWM 120 case fan?

More airflow rated fans = more pricey fans usually.

How about the Arctic F12 PWM? Not the old one, they have a new design out that is apparently rated at 74CFM and reflects its price.

Heres the specs and image to look for:
    http://www.arctic.ac/en/p/cooling/ca...wm.html?c=2183

They have the CO version on Amazon, it isn't a looker compared to the white version:

I own the older 54CFM rated F12, they are very quiet especially for an exhaust fan.

Looks quite nice similar to the NZXT appearence type fans
