Cheap-ish slot loading laptop sized blu ray drive?

I was thinking about getting a blu ray drive for my desktop but now I'm thinking about buying one these http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=CA-196-SV. That'll let me kill two birds with one stone I can get my blu ray and also get rid of my HDD bay in my case so there's more room in my small case.

Cheapest i can find is http://www.scan.co.uk/products/sony-...iter-oem-drive
Which is a bit expensive since I don't actually need to be able to write to blu rays. I only need a reader. Some help would be appreciated

    Thanks in advance

As the adapter needs a full sized bay in your case you gain nothing, may as well get a full sized drive

The adaptor has a slot for the small laptop drive. as well as 4x 2.5" hard drives, so it will house both the blu ray drive and my SSD.

Re: Cheap-ish slot loading laptop sized blu ray drive?

Actually that's a good price as bluray rom dives normally go for around the same price, after a quick look the only place I can find cheaper is ebay and we're stll talking £50 so it's only slightly cheaper for a 2nd hand/refurbished bd-rom

ps scan also sell the silverstone bay for a couple of quid less http://www.scan.co.uk/products/silve...-hdd-ssd-black

If you where willing to lose the bluray then you can get a basic DVDr/w slot loader for around £20-30 eg http://www.eclipsecomputers.com/prod...-AD7800H&af=50
