After market cooler for 3570k on Asrock Z77E ITX + Bitfenix Prodigy

Can you guys suggest an aftermarket cooler that would fit on this board and provide decent cooling for a modest overclock on this cpu. The space is quite tight and some coolers do not fit.

I've considered contained hydro coolers but i'm not sure they offer a good price/performance ratio.

The CoolerMaster Hyper212 Evo should fit from what I can see (might want to double check) and offers a great performance/price ratio, if price is less of an issue whack a Corsair H80i in there, will overclock like a champ.

How about a Xigmatek Thor's Hammer for about £16 on eBay and a fan of your choice if necessary.

The biggest issues you'll have is with the board, the current intel itx layouts puts the cpu socket close to both the ram and pci-e slot, you want to avoid tall ram and a graphics card will restrict the direction of a tower cooler, often the only way to mount it is pointing at the back of the card.
If you're not using a graphics card and just using the onboard gpu then there's far less potential issues.

Find a low profile cooler. Noctua coolers are rather wide for ITX cases.

I think you're right. Unless I only use 1 fan or a 2nd low profile fan. It all comes down to selecting the right mobo for CPU positioning.

If you also plan to use a graphics card then no, none will work AFAIK
All socket 1155 ITX boards have the cpu socket next to the pci-e slot
If you just use the onboard gpu and are not planning to use the pci-e slot then you're open to use almost any cooler as long as you're not using tall ram.

If you're going to use the pci-e slot then your best bet is an all-in-one water cooler or a full water cooling loop

Something like the cooler master Hyper 212 Evo will fit, But not the thicker split designed coolers.

Here's Ulti's build with a Noctua NH-U12P ok it's not the final cooler he used because of the space restrictions of the case, but he show images with it fitted and a 6850 graphics card
