    Specific Keyboard requirments

Ok this is not strictly a case, but it is for my system mod.

I'm looking for a wireless keyboard and mouse (RF not blue tooth)

logitech and microsoft seem to do some pretty good kit.

I am however looking to get one that lies as flat as possible, and nice "soft" keys...and now most difficult is either a.) silver or a good blue colour to match my case/lighting.

The mouse should be silver or blue also and optical.

    Suggestions please ?

NOT bluetooth? Can I ask why not, since (although it's pretty pricey) the diNovo desktop from Logitech would have appeared to fit the bill to a tee but for that.

Failing that, I'd look at the Cherry Cymotion Master Solar , £56.98 inc VAT from Dabs

the diNovo looks spot on, however I don't like the seperate num pad/keyboard.

The reason I chose again blue tooth is

a.) I don't have a bluetooth reciever on my desktop, so I'd have to get a USB dongle
b.) USB ---> Bluetooth ---> keyboard under linux makes unesassary work.

The linux thing, OK, I can see that maybe if support's a problem, but the diNovo's mouse charger station is a Bluetooth transceiver itself and that plugs into your PC, so you can run the whole shebang via that - AND other bluetooth devices. You don't need to already have a bluetootyh transceiver.

Whatever, have a look at the Cherry set I listed above too.

Its not so much the support side of things, as there is actually pretty good support.

I'd rarther not have a core input device hanging off two technology layers.eg: if I upgrade a kernel and the bluetooth or usb support is broke or buggy then I've lost my keyboard and mouse.I would quite like that keyboard though

The cherry keyboard looks ok, I'll have to investigate it.

    Any other options

You're welcome. Problem is that lots of people do these sorts of products (the Logitech cordless MX desktop for instance, and Dabs have a Belkin setup for under £32), but you can have any colour you want - so long as it's black (or in some cases beige...)! THIS is quite funky, but it's an integrated trackball so probably not what you want.

yeah I saw that one. I saw few products on kustompcs and overclockers.

as you saif though the trackball is a pain.

    Quite interested in this product

choices by other companes seem limited.

its a real shame about the diNovo being blue tooth, although I'm not certain I'd be happy with the seperate keypad.

Lovely mouse. I use a Logitech MX500 (corded) and it's VERY comfortable in use at home , and a Logitech RF cordless at work, which is OK.

the dinovo has native usb support, ie i can use my dinovo to get into the bios of my PC... it also works on a dos boot disk... neither the bios or dos have bluetooth drivers loaded... so you wouldn't loose any more than a regular usb keyboard mouse combo (apart from the media pad) never tried it under linux though (works fine under a vm wared mandrake) but that i believe uses the host OS drivers.

the price is... the only thing i have against this truely amazing piece of kit.
