Question Looking for a micro ATX case

    Hello Forum

I am in the process of designing a new server build for home. I have selected all of the components except for a case:

CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1225 V2 Ivy Bridge Retail

    Mobo: Supermicro MBD-X9SCM-F-O mATX Motherboard

    RAM (16GB ECC): Kingston KVR1333D3E9SK2/16G 16GB 1333MHz CL9 DDR3 ValueRAM ECC Memory Kit

SSDs: Samsung 128GB 840 Pro Series Basic SSD - two of these

HDD: Western Digital 3TB Red WD30EFRX = one of these

PSU: Seasonic FANLESS 460W 80+ Platinum

Can someone recommend a micro ATX case that can accomodate this hardware AND is fairly small. By small I mean less than 400mm wide. It should also be as quiet as possible as it'll be running in my lounge. If it could look good too that would be a bonus

Re: Looking for a micro ATX case

So you're looking for a desktop mATX case, I take it from the motherboard you're building a mini server?
    Rack mount?

Something like the Silverstone GD05 http://www.scan.co.uk/products/silve...-black-w-o-psu
    http://www.silentpcreview.com/silverstone-gd05

here's a curve ball in the form of the XIGMATEK GIGAS http://www.xigmatek.com/product.php?productid=134 it's a cube case so might not be what you're after, however with 6x 3.5" drive mounts it does make for a nice freestanding mini-server case

Never used one myself but the bitfenix prodigy is meant to be an excellent case and comes in a wide range of colours with horizontal mobo tray.

It if is going in the lounge, I would steer towards the media PC cases. They tend to be horizontal and quiet.
