Looking for a ATX or Micro ATX Cube Case
I am looking for a relatively cheap (under £75) micro atx or atx case that will fit my coolermaster 212 evo inside and a decent sized gpu that will also fit under my bed so it needs to be less then around 300mm high so it will fit and preferably fit a few good size fans.
The only case I have found so far is the Coolermaster Haf XB but it is around £80 and 330mm high so I would have to put blocks on the feet or my bed to fit so I'm not really leaning towards it and wondered if anyone knows good alternatives as I can't seem to find any others.
Re: Looking for a ATX or Micro ATX Cube Case
This would accommodate the cooler but is 322mm so perhaps still a bit too tall

All aluminium though
Re: Looking for a ATX or Micro ATX Cube Case
The Silverstone SG09 is just slightly over budget, but it really is a nice case. It fits your cooler, supports large cards and has abundant cooling. It is 295mm high so it is just slips under your height limit. :)

Re: Looking for a ATX or Micro ATX Cube Case
Xigmatek Gigas is an interesting one, it's a cube case so it's large for mATX The space isn't massively well used and there's no places to hide cables, so cable management will require a bit more time and thought.
There's a lot of good options there, esp if you ever consider modding.
My current standards.
Silverstone Precision07 http://www.scan.co.uk/products/silve...icro-atx-black or TJ08e http://www.scan.co.uk/products/silve...m-steel-with-u (they are the same inside, only difference is the front bezel)
Fractal design Arc mini http://www.scan.co.uk/products/fract...-%28std-atx%29
These are probably the best mATX cases on the market.
Although we've got a new coolermaster coming soon that's going to be a big challenger, the N200 http://www.coolermaster.com/product/...ower/n200.html while not quite as good it should be around £40 which is going to be a big advantage.
However trying to limit the height to 300mm is going to be a very tall order, a cube case is your best bet, or lay a case on it's side.
Re: Looking for a ATX or Micro ATX Cube Case
I think I might just try and get a normal case and try and fit it onto a shelf above my desk does anyone have any recommended cases for under £60inc p&p (I get free p&p on scan) I've been looking at the shinobi (£40 on specialtech) and 200r (£50 on scan) I like them both but I was wondering if anything in the 200r is worth the extra £10 over the prodigy or if there is any other contenders I should know about.
Re: Looking for a ATX or Micro ATX Cube Case
If you don't mind second hand, then perhaps it's worth looking out for an NZXT Rogue? One on ebay here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/nzxt-Rouge...item35c8258942
I had one, which I had a 5850 and Hyper 212+ in, so you should be ok on that front. It's under 300mm tall too. The downside is it's *very* heavy. The weight coupled with the cube shape made it more awkward for LAN parties than a standard case, hence why I ditched it. If it's just for lurking under your bed though then it should be fine.
Re: Looking for a ATX or Micro ATX Cube Case
That looks great but I really dont like buying second hand stuff and it doesn't look like anywhere sells it in the uk :( .
I have kind of gone off trying to fit a case under my bed for now as I found a sturdy shelf that I can use to fit my case on so I'm just after a sub £60 case now
Re: Looking for a ATX or Micro ATX Cube Case
2nd hand on cases is generally not much of a problem, your main too worries are older cases might not be as well laid out or have bad airflow (dependent on case) or if it's seriously bashed up.
You'll not find the rouge new as it's end of life, heck afaik the factory that used to make NZXT's aluminium cases closed down, the last they made was the panzerbox.
The rouge is still a very good mATX cube case, they where very good quality, it used a thick steel internal frame and thick aluminium panels, hence the weight.
Weight will be an issue if you want to put a pc on a wall shelf, as will be width (depends on how big the shelf is.
the coolermaster K280 isn't bad as a cheap case http://www.scan.co.uk/products/coole...e-case-w-o-psu
Or if you want to stick with mATX the ace ecco 250 is a great current option http://www.scan.co.uk/products/ace-e...oofing-w-o-psu http://www.aceofsweden.com/ace/case/...r/ecco250.html you'll only be able to use one of the hard drive mounting uprights if you want to use a taller cooler like the hyper 212+ but that can hold two hard drives or 3 ssd's and you still have a floor mounting for one hard drive and could put one in the external 3.5" bay
