    Which 120mm Fan?

Getting ready to order fans for my custom build. I am looking for 4 X 120mm fans.

In my last build which is 5 years old now and built in to a Antec 900 case I started using the fans that came with it, then have change the fans 3 times just using the cheapest I could find (PC World) sale items.

This time in a new custom build I am looking to invest in some good air movement. (not silly money, but more a good deal)

I would like red or amber coloured but are there any good fans with LED's, that have ball race bearings not just cheap sleeved?

    What would you recommend?

    Re: Which 120mm Fan?

LED fans in my case are the Bit Fenix Spectre series. Really good, low-noise. No idea if BB or sleeved, but running them for 2.5 years now and no problems yet. They are 200mm fans. The 120mm one I got of theirs was non-LED, but also works just fine. Got them on fan controller, they behave as you'd want them to. Tbh, for case fans I wouldn't spend any more. PWM CPU fans, sure, get the Akasa Apache or Noctua or whatever else floats your boat, but case fans. Meh. Get as big a diameter as will fit your case, and check the noise profile is good for the airflow you want. Job done.

    Re: Which 120mm Fan?

I've been running yate loon d12s in my system for about 10 years. I've just changed them, but not because there was anything wrong, just because the last set of screws I used were too large and have made them useless with normal ones now. Bascially silent at 5V (and reliably spin up at that voltage) through to turboprop (but with associated airflow) at high voltage. Highly recommended if your board is capable of controlling 3 pin fans.

Arctic fans are cheap at the moment going to try and get some myself for £3 they seem like a bargain according to people who have them.

Those Arctic 120mm FANs look like a deal for you.

Arctic Cooling F12 120mm for £3.63. Don't forget to claim cash back > Ebuyer Cashback.

    ARCTIC F series FAN datasheet.

    Re: Which 120mm Fan?

Just replaced my standard corsair fans that came with my H100i with some Noctua fans and omg what a difference, running at the same speed 1400rpm and you cant hear them at all.

I suppose it all comes down to what you want from a fan....my pc is in my living room so i need them to be quiet and also i have my cpu overclocked so i need them to cool that at the same time....so these were perfect for me as they do both jobs brilliantly.

Which Noctua fans did you go for? I was thinking of replacing my H100i and case fans with these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Noctua-NF-F1...I2O0RJWMDR1I7F

The F12s move a fair amount of air. They're a bit whooshy at mid to high speed, but they work very well on high FPI radiators.

1450rpm Scythe Gentle Typhoon AP14s are just as good and quieter, but I needed PWM fans so the F12s won out.

Try the Scythe Gentle typhoon 1850 rpm. Pretty good reviews and recommendations out there on forums.
