Re: Alternative Heatsink Uses
Cool idea... one problem... it's winter :surprised:
Ooo wonder if you can find a way to get it warm and expel heat ;)
Re: Alternative Heatsink Uses

Short of blowing a couple hundred quid on something like a FX9590, I can't imagine anything which would give a good, sustained thermal output. Safely anyway, since my other ideas would be mounting it on a kettle, but I'd imagine it would cool the liquid too fast to have a lasting effect. Alternatively a candle or camping gas, but I don't think the heatsink would appreciate that, especially since parts of the frame are plastic. :P

I think I have seen something like that, but it wasn't using heatsinks, it was just a box with ice and fans to blow air over the ice to produce cool air.

What about putting it on one of those USB-powered coffee warmers? would a little TIM make a difference?
