    Missing Case Fixings

Absolutely gutted. Got all my components together to find that my case (Aerocool Mechatron Black) has none of the fixings (i.e. screws, mounts etc) in it! The case is out of stock at Amazon and the earliest will be the end of next week - any ideas where I could get some Aerocool 'bits & bobs' or will they be specific to that case? Also, does anyone have a contact number for Aerocool UK? Cheers.

Aerocool is a Taiwanese company - their UK distributer is based in Bury, Lancashire, according to their website

    http://www.aerocool.com.tw/europe/united-kingdom.html

So you might try calling them.

Otherwise RMA it back to Amazon and if you need it in a hurry, buy from another UK retailer.

If it was direct with than you might also be able to ask for a partial refund to cover the cost of getting the extra screws.

    Something like:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Konig-Assort...=screws+for+PC
    http://www.pixmania.co.uk/pc-tower-a...1270&nopopup=1

Bare in mind that some cases use fine threaded screws.

Does no-one sell a big bag of mixed screws and generic bits for PCs, then?

    Re: Missing Case Fixings

Yes, places sell them at varying prices, this one is from Maplin :- http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/pc-screw-kit-zt37s

Though a bit on the pricey side but still people do sell them

    Re: Missing Case Fixings

Thanks for the advice. I have actually decided to buy a slight different one:

But at least i now know where to get spares if I do require them.

    Re: Missing Case Fixings

The vast majority of cases use the same standard screw threads, imperial 6-32 and metric M3
6-32 is used for the case side panels, pci card slots, psu and hard drives
M3 is used for 5.25" bay devices and (non-hard drive) 3.5" bay devices
Motherboard stand off screws can be ether 6-32 or M3 although 6-32 is more common.

Other screws used in cases depend on the case, although 6-32 and M3 are still the most commonly used, why go through the hassle of using another type and have to tap multiple thread types when you can just use the one thread tap to tap all the needed holes?
(a tap is a tool used to put a thread into a hole so you can screw into it)

There is one other type of screw and that's a 7-32 self tapping screw, which is used for fans, although personally I prefer to use rubber fan plugs these days.

Are you missing the hard drive trays? and 5.25" bay clips? the only other screws you should need are for the motherboard tray and psu, so psu's come with screws some don't, most fans come with screws too
So if you're not missing the hard drive trays (tool less) or 5.25" clips then all you should need is some 6-32 screws for the motherboard tray and maybe the psu.
http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/...-pid-7535.html a pack of 50 which is far more than you need but harder to find in smaller quantities
These thumb screws are good if you want to go that way http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/...-pid-7534.html although they are a bit long (8mm) so not always the best thing and sometimes will not fit.
These should be good http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/8-pcs-PC-C...item417a070ba8 although the thumb part is a big larger which could portetially cause issues for motherboard mounting.

However if you are missing things like the tool less drive trays or 5.25" bay clips, then your best bet is to contact the seller and complain.
