Any disadvantage to painting GPU back plate?

I'm looking at ordering a backplate for my gtx 780 but wanted to paint it. Obviously i'll use high temp paint but is there anything that can go wrong with this?

GPU backplates are primarily for aesthetics, a thin spray paint coat it won't affect it dramatically.

No electrical reason why not, and unless you are expecting the temperature to go above around 70 degrees (too hot to touch) high temperature paint is probably unnecessary

It doesnt go near that at the moment but I think i'll go with high temp anyway just because official tech specs of the 780 state max temp as 95
