    Which sandblaster and which paint?

I have found what is the perfect case for me. Nevertheless, order after order comes in with noticeable scratches and scuff marks (some even with dents). As I doubt I'll get a case with a paint job to my liking, and since I have all my components sitting in my room already, I have decided to just take what I am given and do the paint job myself. Going by my basic understanding, I need to first sand down the case, then rub it clean, then apply the new paint job. I have discovered some guides, but the question is, what should I use? I have found this paint and this sandblaster but are they suitable? What do you guys use?

Re: Which sandblaster and which paint?

With the only case that I painted (a shinobi) I just used acid etching primer followed by 2pack car spray paint. This worked well but took quite a few coats and is very difficult to repair if it chips. As I have since learned how to coach paint, I would probably coach paint if I had to paint a case again, however learning and doing it is a very time consuming process but can give lovely results.

Ummm while a sand blaster is great you'll have a few problems with that one though, the thing you've linked to is basically a tank, hose and gun only, you'll still need
1 - sand, you'd also need to by the correct sand to go with it. about £1 per Kg
    2 - power, you'd also need a 3HP 90PSI compressor to power it. (according to the description but 3hp is about twice 90psi) so around £100 if it's 90psi or £300 if it's 3hp

You'd be better off contacting a company that does sand blasting for a quote than getting al the bits needed to do it yourself.
See if you can find a local Car paint place, they may well be able to offer sandblasting, also getting an automotive paint job is better than any spray can and they'll be able to mix up custom colours.

Otherwise a self etching primer or sand paper and elbow grease is a better bet.
