    Project Udat

It has been time again for a new little computer, this time a small form factor 1TB server named Udat.

    Materials used:

    Epia M-10000 mobo/cpu.
Raidcore BC4852, 8-port SATA RAID controller.
    Morex Venus CP699 case.
    3 x 5.25" bays into 5 x 3.5" S-ATA drive mobile rack.
    256MB RAM
5 x Western Digital Caviar SE 200GB drives.

And this is how that mix of hardware ended up looking like:

Really nice little system, that. Is it just me, or are the SATA cables not actually plugged in in the third picture? Regardless, well done for being able to fill such a tiny space with so much.

Out of curiosity, how much power does that motherboard & CPU use, and on what rails? Noticed you only have 15A to play around with on the +12v there.

Check the link to the worklog and you will see the SATA cables are plugged in.

As for the power, the maximum usage of the five drives is 65W spread over 5v and 12v. The mobo plus rad controller is 35W at most, probably a lot less. So in total I might use 50% of the 200W rated for the PSU.
