    Question NZXT H440 Problem

    Hey guys,

Just a quick question, I have been looking at the NZXT H440 black and red edition and I love what I see to the point where I was just about to buy it.....

HOWEVER, I then noticed that it has no 5.25" drive bays!

My problem is: I cant decide whether I will cope without one!
Most of my games are either Steam or old .ISOs but for films and music this may be an issue...

SO do I take the plunge or simply get a fractal design R4 instead? (I need a silenced case)

    Thanks!

Well, if you NEED a DVD drive, then you need one. Only you can say whether you actually do. I personally have only used one once in the past 2 years (on a computer anyway), when my uni decided to give us stuff on disk, instead of on the website we use for everything else so I had to put it on a USB key at the library...

If you still use quite a lot of spinning media then get the Fractal. Do you still buy music CDs and then rip them to your computer, or watch films on your computer. If you answer yes to either of these questions then you probably still want a DVD drive.

If it's something you do on rare occasions, then you could do what one of my mates does: He has his DVD drive taped to the inside case floor, because it doesn't look very nice and opens the side panel if he needs to use it (at most it's twice a year, so he considers it worth the hassle ).

I don't even remember when the last time I used my internal drive.
As Macadee mentioned, just get an external USB drive. Transfer might be a bit slower than internal one, but you won't notice difference watching DVDs or listening to music.
H440 is a one sexy case. Fractal is probably a great case, but when it comes to look, it doesn't come close to NZXT.

I have had an internal blu ray writer for about 3 years, never stuck a disk in it, i used a usb stick to install windows.
Games rigs got a DVDRW, it burns random discs for anyone other than myself, all games are downloaded via steam or origin.

My new laptop didn't come with one.

Funnily enough this is a computer build for uni

I was also considering just putting one in the back of my case somewhere for the occasional usage, I just was not sure about space requirements...

    Thanks

This is why I am so torn, the NZXT is an absolute beauty of a case and the red and black will go very well with my MSI Mobo and GPU

To make your choice even more difficult, new special edition colours of h440 are coming, not sure if on UK market though.

If you are looking for a case for Uni have a look at CM Storm Scout 2 Advanced. The top handle might come handy.

    Take care.

Yeah, I saw those new colours appear on Scan but I was intending to get the red and black to fit with my MSI Mobo and GPU

The Storm Scout handle does appeal to me but the design is well... a bit boring?

Sadly I am having difficulty getting hold of a red H440 as Scan just put their shipping date back by a month!?

I got mine from Aria PC, but its more expensive than Scan and it is listed for £108 plus delivery.
    White one is cheaper.
