Case recommendation for SLI
Wishlist :
- ATX Motherboard
- The system will use air cooling, no water
- I will only be using m.2 SSD so don't need drive cages or optical bays
- Small footprint would be good
- Good airflow for SLI GPU's (probably 2x 970 / 980 )
- Quiet is good
Any recommendations welcome. My current front runner is the Silverstone FT05.
My budget is :
If its shiny enough I will find the money ;) But lets say ideally £200 ($300usd) or less ish.
edit:
If you agree the FT05 is the best for this use then please post that too. Thanks :)
Re: Case recommendation for SLI
I'm not at all keen on the mounting orientation of the FT05, but then I'm not the one who's going to use it. If a small footprint is important, and given you won't be using ordinary drives, my recommendation is the Lian Li PC-V700.
If you check the link, you'll see the drive cage is removable, in which case two large video cards can be fitted with ease. If you find at some later stage that you want to add a drive or two, they can be fitted at the base of the case. Air flow should be adequate as is, with front and rear 120mm fans, but you can also add one or two 120mm fans to the top panel. If you choose two GTX 9xx cards with decent aftermarket coolers I can't see that being necessary though.

The Fractal Design Define S was released yesterday! You can see it http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/chassi...sign-define-s/
Looks like it has a lot of clearance due to the drive cages being removed, it also has plenty of space for fans because it has no optical drive slots.
Fractal also specializes on quiet cases, so that's a plus.
The only two downsides I see are the lack of a fan controller and the 2 less USB ports on the front.
