120mm LED fan suitable for Thermaltake XP 120 HSF?

Anyone using a 120mm LED fan with the Thermalright XP 120 heatsink?

It takes typical case fans, but due to the way it clips onto the XP120 not all fans fit.

There seems to be a shortage of 120mm led fans and from pictures on the web I cant make out the fixings.

A 120mm LED fan is just a 120mm fan with some LEDs in it, nothing special.

Any 120mm fan will fit on to a 120mm fan hole, leds or not.

What he means is that the screw holle sections are like a tube from the top to the bottom so that the clips can not get a hold in where the hole should be.

Take a look at a normal 80mm fan where you screw threw theres space between the top and bottom screw holes, in a lot of the 120mm fans there is no sapce because there is a tube from top to bottom there.

Thats right, its to do with the fan clips that the XP120 uses. If a fan does not have a clear ridge around the screw holes then the clip wont fit over. Page 2 of the review linked in my first post points this out.

The manufaturer recommends a fan to use, but its not LED, and I'm a sucker for those lights

I guess it may be possible to cut/grind out the tube between the top and bottom half of the fan though? Anyone done that before?

just done that to my askaa ones so that i could use proper fan screws.
