Mini ITX Cases with loads of bays?
I'm looking for a budget mini ITX case that can fit at least 6 bases. Anyone have any ideas?
Unfortunately Scan does not have the ability to filter cases based on specifics such as number of bays, and surprisingly a case such as Lian Li PC-Q26 Mini ITX Tower Case which came out in 2014 has not been replaced with something new.

Try using some of the price comparison / spec comparison sites.
This is skinflint set to max ITX with a min of 4 X 3.5" bays:
https://skinflint.co.uk/?cat=gehatx&...uk&hloc=eu&v=e
Only 4 results.
Changing the filter to 6 X 2.5" gets 14 results:

Silverstone DS380?

It isn't budget priced, mind - I don't think you'll find a truly budget 8 bay ITX
For something a bit cheaper, search 6 or 8 bay ITX on Ali Express - there are a few on there. Prices and shipping cost vary a fair bit and you might have to consider customs charges.
If the bays don't have to be external, a Fractal Node 304 might be an option.
Re: Mini ITX Cases with loads of bays?
I know someone who uses a Node 304 for a mini-ITX server build,and it worked a treat.
Re: Mini ITX Cases with loads of bays?
I'll third the Node 304, if you can stomach a bigger case, I'd say look at the Node 804, I've both, the Node use to home my server, which is undergoing some changes ATM but will still be housed in that!
Re: Mini ITX Cases with loads of bays?
Node 304 here as well, 2x nvme drives on the board and then 4 3.5” drives off off the onboard sata ports, has enough room for 2 more 3.5” drives in there, 2 fans in the front to keep them cool and one in the back..

I swapped my server build from mATX in an 804 to iTX in a 304.

I'm going with 3.5, but 2.5 is not a bad idea and might be worth sharing for someone else if they come to this thread.

I'm was looking for budget, I guess you can say in the £30 range of cases. Anything more and I think it's kind of worth going with other builds.

Too expensive for me (or my budget build), but found these

There is even the option to build your own using:

uk.pcpartpicker.com allows you to filter according to number of bays.
Fractal Design Core 500 has 3 x 3.5" and 3 x 2.5" and comes in at £57 from scan.

Buy a 3d printer, print your own modular case?
I didn't get my 304 new, it was used off of FB marketplace, had to drive 15 miles to pick it up, had a few screws missing, emailed Fractal to see if I could get a screw pack from them, they sent me one FOC which was nice as I was expecting to pay for it...

You been watching Linus Tech Tips? They did pretty much exactly that, but for an 'open' skeleton-type design. It was a while ago (month or two) when I watched it and I seem to remember some discussion over careful choice of exactly what to print with (material, I mean, not the printer).
In all seriousness, though, it would seem to present a LOT of design and prototyping challenges, unless a suitable design can be found online somewhere. An interesting project that, a few years ago I might have done just for the .... ummm .... 'poops' and giggles of it. But would it fall into the 'budget' category? I doubt it, even if Savas has the printer already.
It'd be a lot of fun trying, though.
PS. Y'know, if I still had some of my press contacts, I might beg/borrow aprinter, just for the hell of it. I wonder if ..... no, 'get thee behind me, Satan'.
PPS. Damn it, Trig, now I've got a mind worm niggling me.
PPPS. I'm trying to declutter, not reclutter. If I get a 3D printer, and end up divorced, I'm moving in with you. With my remaining clutter. Got a spare room? Garden shed? Tent on the lawn? Kennel? Anything?

... anywhere that isn't drafty, you don't want those 3D prints spoiled :D
I've considered printing a case before. I would probably require a whole reel of petg once you discarded a couple of prototypes, so around £20. Then if you care about radio shielding you would want some conductive spray paint to do the inside with. Works out cheaper to just buy something.
Unless it's a Raspberry Pi case. I print those.
But I have to ask the OP what they are trying to achieve with this? It's a fairly odd combination, ITX boards only have 4 SATA ports on them so you have to use the only PCIe slot of an ITX board for a SATA card. In a NAS build I would want ECC ram, and I don't know any Intel options on ITX for that. On AMD, you would have to find a Pro series APU to get ECC support, as the usual APUs don't fuse that off and the usual 3600 parts I would use are out because you can't plug in a GPU as you used that slot for SATA.
Once you have a ton of spinning disks to plug in you are already looking a a sizable build, uATX just seems to make things so much easier.
I would have thought by now there would be loads of people selling off their Chia mining builds, trying to get something back from that car crash of a crypto.

I've already got a 3d printer that will be arriving when I get back from Sardinia, bought as a passing joke with a guy that ordered one at work and then cancelled it, but it turned up anyway and I'd said that if it did I've give him £150 for it, he paid £160 lol..
But yeah, I have a spare room and a garage, hope you like dogs and teenagers...
Re: Mini ITX Cases with loads of bays?
What about the corsair 280x maybe

Dogs, yeah. Teenagers? Plead the 5th?
I don't suppose you'd consider gags? Handcuffs, maybe. Oh hi, Mrs Trig. I think I'll be going now. :D
