Have any of you who have cases on a wooden or other surface that adds to noise tried using spikes such as these at all?
was there any improvement?

They are designed to poke through carpets to give speakers a firm base on which to stand. I don't think they would be very effective when used as case feet in terms of reducing noise.
i thought they were to isolate speakers to stop vibration, which i thought would reduce noise.
Don't know what their purpose is but i think they can damage wooden floors
If you want to isolate speakers, a paving slap with a thin strip of bluetack going around is perfect (if a little fugley). The softest silicone you can get is best for your case feet (EDIT) preferably compressed to 33% of normal thickness.
Speaker bass spikes as they are often referred are designed to reduce bass transmission through the floor (& therefore connecting walls as well) of the room. For example, if you live in a flat with people living below you & all around you, it is a good idea to spike your speakers, so your neighbours don't hear your bass coming straight through the floor & walls.
On a computer they would do little or nothing, possibly making the sound worse. A computer does not produce large amounts of low-frequency sound.
just an annoying high pitched humming. Have you considered foam sound proofing, new fans?
Actually u can get sound proofing mats which is close to wat u seem to want
