    experienced modder wanted Southwest

    Ok guys,

I've finished my PC mod, and its "ok" but it has a lot of problems, such as cable tidying (god I'm bad with it) hard disk installation / location etc etc.

I'm looking for an experienced modder in the southwest I can take my PC to help /advise me (or even do it for me)on stipping it down, recabling and reinstalling a few key components (hard disks)

I've got a new video card coming and want to sort this out so it makes it tidier, gives me a little better room for kit and improves air flow.

I'll buy the experienced modder some beer, or a gadjet or something.

Just want to get this PC really tidy and finished so I can start using it properly.

I'd ask anyone to help, but I don't really want to send it away in the post, I'd rarther drive to someone or meet someone.

cable tidy and component tidying is a must though as I need to put in the better video card, I'd like to install a second Sata disk, and I'd really like to improve the air flow.

    any takers ?
    It is Inevitable.....

Cable tidying is easy ikonia. Get yourself some cheap spiral wrap, in the color of your choice. Remove all cables & leads, & both side panels. Easy way to tidy cables is run them behind the mobo especially the power leads. Round IDE cables look good & sata cables ar skinny anyway.

Now, when you've got all your cables re-routed zip-tie them together in neat runs, trying to keep the wires as parallel as poss. Then use the spiral wrap. nice & tight. Be CAREFUL & dont bash anything Takes time, but looks good. Finally, if ou can tie-wrap the runs to the chassis. bref to the back of the case, if not at the front.

    Good luck!

The trick really is to find something, then hide it behind something else - the equivalent of sweeping all your crap under the bed I guess , using cable ties to keep it there. Got two cables running near each other, tie em together for one cable.

I took 2 evenings stripping a psu cables, braiding and heatshrinking the ends then putting black molex on them - If you can't hide them, ie to a gfx with 2 psu connectors, the best you can do is try to make them as invisible as possible.

Or if you haven't got rounded IDE cables or SATA cables, try this:
