    Anyone got a coolermaster keyboard?

If so, is it possible to remove and move about the keys? I'd like to move to the Dvorak layout - and am after a keyboard which will support it

    Cheers,

    You mean the Q keyboard?

You cant remove theplastic key-tops if thats what you mean. With all keyboards the layout has to be changed in software anyway.

You could paint the keys black and then re-write on them with white paint...

I love these keyboards because they are easy to fix, i had a wireing problem, and it killed the controler on one. I spilt a large quantity of beer on the keys of another, so I swap the good controler to the good keys

Speedlink make a very similar range of keyboards (using the same laptop style key set, possibly made in the same factory). Im uing the SL6465 but I know they have other versions, including european and probably dvorak

When i spilt water on my keyboard i took it apart to clean. Found out how the keys stay in.

Take the back off, lift of the circuit board etc, push tabs behind key together and push out. This was on a dell keyboard, guess they're all the same though

Yup, your right. I just tryed it with my spare (the one damaged by beer).

Not hard to get them back on either. You dont need to bend the tabs (as I first thought) but push the key away to the connected side and lift up that side to unclip it - the oppisite to put them back.

hmmm, i was hoping to find a keyboard with removable keys so i could swap them around - rather than doing a rubbish job with a pen...

standard keyboards (e.g. the dell one i'm using now) have removable keys - but they are all designed slightly differently to angle into the user. when you swap them around, they look rather wonky.

hence after a flat (laptop style) one...

    thanks anyway

thats not the problem. i can tell the OS to use a different keymap - but i want the keys themselves to have the correct labels on them.

Most keyboards have removeable key's, its just understanding how to do it
Some are just push fit.. some clip fit either on mechanical switches or membrain
    pads.

Can't help don't own that keyboard, maybe send an email off to coolermaster ?
Key-mapping is no issue as said and can be pre-windows boot.

Only issue is if you ever want to navigate your bios with that keyboard

Most keybaords you can use a knife to remove the keys. It's fun to ping them off and see how far across the room/garden you can shoot them

    lol howard!

Less likely to break the keys if you have some fun dismantling a keyboard
