Right, so I was sitting here, at home, owndering what to do. I immediately thought of what I used to do when I was bored at home: Meccano!
So, out came the tools...![]()
First thing to make was the motherboard supports. I was using the bits from my Epox Mini-Me 300s or something, I forget the name. Either way, the mobo is nice and small, which was handy. The other great thing was that the support holes are actually an exact meccano distanc apart, allowing it to be bolted straight to the frame (inc. plastic insulators) The HD and the PSU mounting screws were also a nice distance apart, making the whole thing easier.

Owing to the weight of the CD drive, I decided to mount it underneath the mobo. It fitted neatly between the mobo supports, and a bar at the fron was the right size to fit between the buttons and the tray, and stop it sliding forward. As many drives are different lengths, I used some curved pieces of Meccano to provide a "spring" fit, keeping it all in place.

Next thing was the psu, which needed to be mounted. The Power cables were all quite short, so it needed to be mounted to one side...

The HD was mouned under the CD drive, but thanks to my secret weaponwas still far enough of my desk for comfort.
Last but not least, I put the screen from the front of the case, now niceley angled towards me, and plugged it all in...
