    Theuncharmed's new PC (800x600)

    hi all,

I'm new here (5 post woo hoo!) but just wanted to show you my PC and get some feedback. I know the cables still need some work but what do you think?

As for a window, I'm waiting for the cooler master version to be released before I go ahead with it. I want to see what they have to offer before I mod my own.

Interesting fan position on the base, how's that being held there?

Have you considered sheathing the unsheathed cables?

Will do. I'm justing waiting on some free time. I'm also going to put the fan cables at the back of the case rather than the front so you wont see them at all.

My big concern is the lump of cables at the top. I've used all the space I have at the top and so they just looked clumped and ugly. any ideas? I've already cut of all the SATA cables just to free up some space...need more.

the fan on the side of the case is being held there with a neat ziptie, undershod with akasa paxmate to stop the vibes. works a treat.

In my case (Can't do pics cos its down atm) I have shoved the cables above the CD drives.

Theres a space behind the LCD screen I have which accomodates the cables no problems.

looks ok, as dougal says, move the drives down one and stick the cables up top...

Also, as good as that checkerboard plate is, having it covering the HDD's is not going to do anything good for the heat in there.....

The drives need to stay where they are - there stealthed and I want them at the top - looks better. I've used up all the space above them as well, well almost.

The HDD is actually in a SilenX holder (see pic) in a 5inch bay. its got a 120mm fan running over the top and so temps dont hit any more than 35

typing was hard and one leg has to stay out, but you get used to it

Nah, its quite good. I'm used to microATX in full tower so it was a shock. Also its not as smooth or as well built as my previous case (AC silentium). the edges are sharp and the case panel is a pig to get on right. but its a strong case with plenty of good options going for it.

    Whats the EVO 120 like?

Need to get a new HSF for my system ASAP, but the XP-120 is too big because of the footprint

The EVO 120 is excellent. I use a SilenX on top at 5v and it still keeps the system cool at 30/3 idle and then up to 40/3 on load. Actually I didnt connect a fan properly and afterplaying CS:Source for 2 hours and it only hit 44 - not bad I thought. With the akasa on 12v I think it would cool into the late 20's at idle and mid thirties at load.

Excellent cooler - loads better than Arctic Cooling and if you have a 120 at the back it makes a perfect through flow section.

    10/10 - fits all CPU's as well
