    side fan

It would help if you could provide extra cooling for your graphic card. If you can mount a fan next your card and suck the extra heat out then you will see a benefit especially if you have SLi.

So if i fit a side fan its better to pull the air out rather than push fresh air in

Depends, if you have more air going out them in. Then you will start to get negative air pressure instide the case. this means less airflow and more noise. But if the airs not been drawn out effecently then temps will rise.

Try it both ways round with your temprature monitors on, see if theres any difrence. If theres non ether way theres not much point in haveing it.

You have 1 fan sucking air in & the psu fan & rear exhaust are pushing it out, so you've already got a bit of neg air pressure. Most effective route I've found to date is to leave the side vent open & cut an exhaust fan in the roof of the case. This draws hot air up & out, allowing as much cool air as is requred to be drawn thro the open side vent.
But that's just personal preference It's all about trial & error.

    side fan

I tried both and I got better temps when the extra air that was being pulled out. You can always try both and see what suits your setup.

With the shark the side grill is open so i think i will temp mount a 120mm fan on the grill to see if it makes any difference before permenently mounting it

Arrrgh - that term seems to be everywhere (negative pressure).

Anyhow, I'd suggest a top blowhole (or 2) & a side input (right opposite the CPU for instance)
