*note: It's only a case, no actual mac components inside
Oh why unreal, you already have a fairly good case, nothings wrong with it
Well thats true, but I had a convinient moment that I just had to make the most of it and snap up that chance. Basically, the computer downstairs is broke, and has been the main reason of boredom for my brothers. So, my dad want's to get it working, and I blame the motherboard (its defo the motherboard).
Go on...
Well he wants a new case, PSU, mobo and RAM for it. It's a sweet ol' Athlon XP system, so that shouldn't be too hard to make for under £100. Now I recently, under a stroke of luck won an X800GT, which means I have to get rid of my processor, and mobo and obviously my current video card. SO I offered it to my dad in trade for a new mobo, processor and case
So then I told him how I've been eyeing up this ultra-hard-to-get-hold-of-on-it's-own case so he let me go for it on ebay... and I got it for £82
I DNT CARE LEIK, I WANA SEE SOMMOR PICTURZZ
Well I just bought the case, I REALLY NEED some ideas, advice and help anywhere possible for this. This will be my first ever mod, but I have much electronics expertise and facilities at my disposal (my dad owns a workshop) so I can make tiny lil circuit boards and things.
So ideally I have these outlines planned
- As little cutting made as possible. Even the panel of ports on the back will be untouched, and just rerouted to the motherboard
- No window or chavness, but some cool smoke effects or something would be good
- Genius internal organisation, maybe some metal panels seperating the PSU compartment etc
- Needs to be cheap
- Silent if possible, but not like 0db silent, just not noisy lol
I will post pics when the case gets here. I literally just won the item, my dad hasn't even paid yet. But it looks like the X800GT is going to have a home![]()
