    Dell 2005FPW Mod

    hihi,

    not a major mod, hardly did anything but the result was pretty kewl, just stuck an old neon tube to the back of the mon, acts as backlight at night.



    so what y'all think??

    I was going to do that (honestly) but I was too lazy to get an external cathode lol

    I was quite shocked when reading the title, I thought you might have physically modded the thing... I would never do that to mine, it's like an extention to my balls

    mines just a normal case cathode, hehe just hid the wires, running from psu. Same bro I ain't gonna physcially mod my screen..love it too much to mess it up. 100% effect, 0 time, plug and play

    Well judging from what he just said, he runs it externally from a wire leading into his case, connecting to the PSU

    Nice one man, thats what mine would have looked like if I would have been bothered

    Doesn't the dell have an internal usb hub? could jus power it off that...might be wrong was looking at a couple of large TFTs

    Also the other thing is that I go to LAN parties, be a bit of a bitch if people facing me had this florescent tube beaming down their retina

    lol true that, and maximum convinience But I was also imagining equiping and unequiping it every time I take the monitor somewhere. Very minor issues though, I should really give it a try
