    PSOne LCD

These are selling for ~£40 on eBay and I've seen on Bit Tech people hvae modded these into cases....

It's SERIOUSLY tempting... Considering it takes normal VGA or Composite video!!

    Anyone actually done this?

Any opinions or comments on the idea?

ive followed the stuff over at bit-tech aswell and its a tempting mod although i would only use the composite as i doubt i could be bothered to mess around wiring up the vga

ive also noticed the there are some sub £50 gamecube screens which may be better quality but i dont know owt about connecting them up ,may be worth looking at them also

£50 inc on ebuyer if you've got a shiny free delivery token. Would probably work out to a similar price if you add the auctioners P&P.

I considered doing it myself, but I can't be bothered at the moment. I don't really need one, tbh.

    They're nice, though.

£37.50 in game if you know someone that works there
    Heres mine:

and it does look a LOT better in real life. ffs the crappy webcam has even made the sides look curved!
Problem is while its VGA compatable, the refresh rate and timings are far too low for windows, so you HAVE to run powerstrip to set up the screen. Needs to be ran eaach time you start pc, but once set you can exit and hte screen will stay.
fonts below 12 get hard to read. My winamp playlist is hard to erad, but i can ust make out each track name, but thats about the smallest font you want to use.

Composite video gives crappy quality, so im told. I cba to test it because it only has the crappy 3.5mm socket not the standard RCA socket which composite usually uses.

VGA. Well not a cord as such, you need to do some soldering.
You only need to solder the RGB, CSYNC, RGB ground and a few other pins. Also you need 3x75ohm resistors or the graphics card wont detect the monitor (not needed with single output cards).
Nvidia cards also need a CSYNC generator becuase it only outputs H and V syncs... Power is from the 7.5v brick or you can build a regulator circuit to get it from your psu.

The MAIN problem with this is that windows has crappy suppport for multiple displays, for example playing cs on one moves everything thats on the other halfway back onto the main one, ontop of cs, making it hard to play

VGA is very easy to mod (if any one wants one modded to vga with alu bezel I could do it quite easly)
Composite has much worse quality i found on mine, with VGA 12 is the best/lowest font, but down to 8 is readable. I think i could get better if I played with timings more.

In my pic above the winamp playlist is readable (but a bit too small for my liking), and you can see how small the text is there
