dual opteron plus SLI

am trying to put together a dual opteron with sli.
do the opterons need to be the same. i have 2 252's and a 875.
could i use the 875 with one 252?
if not would a 275 work with the 875.
secondly with the graphics card,
i have the ibm t221 (dg3) with a Quadro FX 3000, at highest res of 3840 by 2400 it takes 3 seconds to open 5000 by 3000 image.
the file size is 45mb.
would the opterons speed up the opening time enough to make quadro sli a waste of money. was thinking of two Quadro FX 3400's.
was going to use the supermicro H8DCE mobo

For a start, mobo id go for a Tyan K8WE, which roxor by all accounts.
AS far as opening times goes, i would imagine that is a function more of processor/ram/hdd speed than graphics card.
To the SLI then, if youre gonna get 3400s anyway, buy one first, if its not fast enough get a second.

And i dont think you can mix 8xx and 2xx, you definately wont be able to mix the different speed ones.

EDIT: a) this is the wrong forum for it, and b, theres not really a need for 3 threads with the exact same text and slightly different titles.

the tyan board seems to have less slots and only 4 satas while the micro has the full 8.
will see if the 875 is slower than two 252.
