    Lian Li V1000B

How good is it? I'm looking at replacing my CM201 for this in around a month. I think it looks pretty amazing, but what's its functionality like? I was looking at the V1100B but PCPRO gave it an awful review. Apparently they left it benching on 3dmark 03 and it locked up . Which one would you guys for for and why? Have the issues with the V1100 overheating been fixed?

they left a case benching? blimey

i have the 1000 and i have to say that im very impressed with it, although sometimes i wish i had got the 1200 for the extra depth because it was a tight squeeze putting the watercooling into it.

it all depends on what you want to do with it.

the airflow is good, but i found that putting the dvd drive in the second bay down, and having an 80mm low rpm fan wedged between the dvd drive and the roof of the case to suck out the hot air from the graphics card worked wonders.

dust can be a problem as the case is very open, but a quick clean once a week with some air should be enough.

if you use sata drives, you will need 1m cables, or you will have to mount the drives backwards (thats if you want the cables tidy anyway).

just so you know, the rear fan blows inwards and some of the air is blown out of the front, but if you hold your hand over the little holes in the aluminium on the top or the back, you can feel the air coming out. clever really

the aluminium divider that houses the psu is now removable, so shouldnt be a problem.

I had the V1100 - best case I ever owned... The only issue I have/had with it is when I switched to an Asus AN8 Premium (with the heat pipe running upwards through it), the sys kept crashing cos of the heatpipe orientation not wicking the heat away quickly enough. So instead of switching to a mobo with chipset fan/better heatsink (like a normal person would do), I bought a new case (Antec P180) which positions the mobo standardly. Got to say the Lian Li $hits all over the Antec in build quality and design - i'm just annoyed the Asus don't make better heatpipes/sinks or non orientation specific ones.

The V1100 is for sale, PM if wanted.

Do both he Antec neopower 480 and the XP90C (heatsink) fit in the V1000B?

Edit: After much deliberation, I'll choose between these three:

I've got the Silverstone TJ06, it's a wicked case, I've seen pictures of the new TJ07 and it looks gorgeous. I've also got a Lian Li V1100 which I use for my server and I love that too, although Im get heat problems in that and have to run it without one of the side panels on.

You shouldn't have any problems putting those PSU's into either of the cases, they're all ATX aren't they?

Yeah, but the fan on the Neopower blows directly on to that metal plate ABOVE the PSU and just below the motherboard. I'm guessing this could cause some heat issues?

the fan that is there on the psu is an intake fan, and that area also will get cool air from the front fan on the case.
