Is it possible to cut a circular hole with a dremel, eg. for making a blow-hole? This is in light of browsing their website and reading that apparently you should only cut straight lines with the blades.
It's possible, you generally cut an octogon and sand it out to a circle with a sanding drum attachment. It's a lot of effort and expense for something you can do in a matter of minutes with a 2.99 pair of tin snips and a file.![]()
What you really want is a hole saw, i think you can just add one to a normal drill possibly.

Cutting blades will shatter if you try to do curves with them. Holesaw or tin snips are the better options.![]()
yes, i have also seen the hole saws for normal drills, there jsut an attachment u add to the end and make ltos of holes![]()
i did my blowholes with a holesaw - i purchased a 114mm holesaw and a shank to hold it onto the drill ( i was cutting it for 120mm btw)
was much quicker than trying to cut it with my dremel

Also make sure the saw is the Bimetal/HSS type as otherwise it's unlikely to go through case thickness metal.

I've cut a couple of blowholes before with a Dremmel, takes time and a few cutters but can give a good finish. The ideal method is to cut rough circle with a jigsaw and then to smooth around using a dremmel (like a file).
Anybody got somewhere I can find a good holesaw for a normal Drill??

Best price I've found (for a 114mm HSS Bi-metal one) is £15.49 delivered via Amazon:

Custom PC magazine has a very good and quite big feature on using dremels this month.
I use a dremel all day long at work, but only for making tiny holes in glass.
