    Project Q-Pack

Okay, exams are over, the mod-project on the Q-pack can commence, i've got a couple more mods lined up for my stacker, and my mates pc, involving cramming a silent media pc and watercooling setup into his already constructed rig, he has a large case!

However, the list of tasks is shown below:
    - Spray Interior Black
    - Finish the drive bay mod
    - Mount the switch proper
    - Mount the second switch (you'll see)
    - Relocate power and drive switch
    - Cut a big gaping hole where it used to be and fit a dual 3.5" res vertical in the gap
    - Relocate the hard drive to the floppy drive bay
    - Get some elbows and retube the watercooling kit
    - Mod the back panel to allow the rad to be mounted on the back
    - Change the front LED's so they're Blue (or red to match the mashie)
    - Get UV blue dye for the loop
    - Window panel the sides of the case cover
    - Paxmate the bottom and top of the case
    - Reroute all wiring under the motherboard tray

    Photos of the Q-Pack

Coolermaster Arrived yesterday (Thanks madmaca!) - Hyper Psu fitted

    UPDATE: 05/062006

been hard at work today, stripped everything out the case and the back panel has been cut to allow the radiator to be mounted outside. the whole loop has been retubed and ive attached the elbows. it looks brill

Not bad, lot easier to read now the pictures have been resized

Looking forward to seeing how you mod the radiator into the case, should be interesting. Jus wondering, why in the stacked did you install the PSU at the bottom, the wrong way up? Im not sure with the hiper psus, but the seasonic I have doesnt like being upside down (according to the instructions anyway...) and in the stacker you can put it top or bottom?

i was quite apprehensive about running the PSU upside down, but while leak testing the kit thats in the q-pack, it was hooked up to the hiper, running upside down. It had no qualms doing it.

As to the reason for mounting it at the bottom: i've just bought a brand spanking new shiny metallic blue power supply and im not sticking it in a darkened metal cage at the top, i want it on display hehe. One of the stacker mods I already have lined up is to remore the bottom and sides of this cage, allowing the psu to be attached whilst still in full view

Anyway, i need to wait until my x2 rig is complete, just waiting on a few more parts, before commencing work on the q-pack, as i need at least one steady rig to write these posts on

Cheers for the input Dave, and ill try to update this as often as i can

Bit of a bummer, my Samsung Spinpoint died tonight, and it had lots of important data on it (130 gigs to be exact)

Have opted for 2x250 Samsung Spinpoints (to be used in Mirror configuration)
and a 36.6 Raptor from Splash (thanks Splash)

These will be going in the Stacker case, and pics will be posted when the stuff arrives

ive got no idea, it was working when i put it in the stacker. Pulled it later on this evening to discover it was stone cold dead. Ah well life goes on
Could perhaps been me continuously powering on and off the hiper whilst forgetting to unplug all the drives. hmm...we'll never know.

oh forgot to mention, my 7800GTX came this morning (cheers to madafwo for that one)

if it spins up theres a good chance that you will be able to recover the data off of it, I had a 300gb fail on me, managed to recover all the data, without any errors. I'll look it out for you, but you do have to pay for it - very good, and worth it though...

hehe i just bought 2 spinpoints and a raptor my bank balance is a lot lighter noo!
the spinpoint doesn't draw any power at all, it remains unrecognised in the bios

when i get round to it, ill take another 2014N and try changing over the drive control, to see if its the control mech thats busted. If i can recover the data, thats great, but im not keeping my hopes up.

also ordered a couple of 90 degree elbows for the cooling kit, going out to buy some black spray paint too. Will post parts pics as they arrive

its a mashie MDVA, basically a spectrum analyser that converts ur audio signal (theres a cable which runs through the pc, out the back to a 3.5mm coupler) into a graphic equalizer signal. the signals then played using the LED's and it moves to the music.

easy peasy, just mount it on the inside of a window mod all u need is the 4 holes for the support screws, and 3 holes for the buttons to pop through
i got mine from kustompcs, was 30 quid, its a really cool piece of kit
