How easy would it be to make a servo set up so that it opens a panel with say.. a fan underneath when the pc starts up and then closes when the pc shuts down?
erm not *too* hard, servo's like the kind you find with model aircraft lend themself to be interfaced digitally so if you like programming then it would be trival with a microcontroller (and cheap!), otherwise generating the commands to tell the servo which posistions to track too could get complex!
but a better option might be a so-called "linear acutator" depending on the weight of your panel. http://www.iirobotics.com/catalog/pr...roducts_id=357 for a light weight example of such a device.
